How do Magnetic Cores Work
Within magnetic components, magnetic cores are amongst the most essential components because transformers and inductors rely on them to function. Custom magnetic cores assist by trapping and routing the magnetic fields in electromechanical and magnetic devices like transformers and inductors.
Magnetic cores aren’t common metals, they’re comprised of ferromagnetic metals like iron, while others of ferrimagnetic compounds like ferrites. This allows for a magnetic field to be created when a magnetic core is present in the transformer or inductor.
Magnetic cores like MN-ZN ferrite and tape wound nanocrystalline are few of the cores we carry ready to ship. The average transformers and inductor are applicable to the cores we carry and have the following specifications.
- MN-ZN FERRITE CORES: 2000<µi<10000 (Toroids, EE, EF, EFD, ETD, EP, RM, POT/CUT, UU, UR, BLOCKS AND PLATES
- TAPE WOUND NANOCRYSTALLINE CORES: 30000<µi<80000 (Round and Oval shapes)
